Graham Colbourne: Complex developmental relational trauma in Gestalt psychotherapy
“In this workshop, I offer support in developing an effective practice for psychotherapists who work with clients growing up in situations of abuse, neglect, chaos or insecurity.
As practitioners, we deal with clients whose daily lives and relationships often include fear, terror, confusion, depression, shame, addiction, hopelessness, rage and emptiness. When we meet with these clients, we are reminded of our own lives and histories. In addition, we resonate with what the client brings – in our bodies, impulses and feelings.
I often find that when we can work with this level of complexity and challenge ourselves, we can become more effective with clients!”
