Workshop Description:
The training will be introductory and will cover basic concepts related to transgenderism. It is dedicated to people who have no experience and knowledge in the field of transgenderism and would like to learn about the basic issues.
Scope:
- Transgender – basic issues:
Basic concepts related to transgender, such as gender identity, sex, gender role, transition and gender expression, as well as how they differ and how to talk about them.
- An introduction to the psychology of transgender people:
Transgender-specific experiences, such as minority stress, gender identity discrimination and gender dysphoria. How these experiences affect transgender people.
- The specific needs and experiences of transgender people coming forward for support:
An outline of the difficulties, needs and experiences of transgender people, as well as issues on which people can come forward for support. What are the characteristics of supportive and discriminatory environments, and how such environments affect the well-being and mental health of transgender people.
- Impression of respect in communication:
How to speak to and about transgender people in a way that is inclusive and respectful of their identities.
- Ways to support transgender people:
What actions and attitudes can be used to support transgender people. What are the determinants of supportive alliances and how can they be implemented on a daily basis, including in aid work.

Psychologist. He works with people on the autism spectrum on a daily basis. He has been providing LGBTQ+ and transgender awareness training since middle school, educating students, faculty and peers. Conducted a training course entitled. “Inclusive language and basic knowledge of transgenderism” for the Lodz Gestalt School. He runs a Support Group for Transgender and Non-Binary People organized by the Equality Factory in Lodz.
