Event description:

Gestalt workshop: Mental resilience (rezyliencja) from the perspective of field theory with Lena Grigorieva – Lodz Gestalt School invites you: Mental resilience – resilience – is the ability to cope with stress and life challenges by adapting to the environment in the most creative way. It gains strength with maturity through increased awareness, embodiment, openness to experimentation, rootedness in the here-and-now, fuller contact, and the development of a relational and phenomenological approach to life. Creativity and responsibility are key driving forces to strengthen resilience. But since the figure is shaped by the environment, and the environment influences the figure, we cannot consider the process of building resilience in isolation from the environment. The modern environment is full of toxic influences resulting from divisions, wars and other forms of violence. Geographically, Poland is at the intersection of many tensions: war is close at hand, migrants are arriving from various eastern countries, and religious contexts create numerous restrictions and feelings of shame. Poland is in many ways in an “in-between” state. – does not take an active part in the war, but receives many people with wounds and suffering coming from conflict regions. How do we deal with this in life and in therapy?

Gestalt workshop: Mental resilience (resilience) from the perspective of field theory – objectives:

The workshop Gestalt: Mental Resilience…. is devoted to how to survive in such a field full of tension and helplessness. In order to develop the most effective coping strategies, we need an in-depth study of this field to get a clear picture of the phenomena taking place from a Gestalt perspective. The workshop leader, Lena Grigorieva, will share her insights on the phenomenon of the field, its dynamics, figure formation and background in the current situation in Poland and the practice of Gestalt in Poland.

About the workshop leader:

Lena Grigorieva is an experienced Gestalt psychotherapist, a forced migrant from Belarus, currently living in Poland and working as a trainer at the Lodz Gestalt School since its foundation. She is active on the international Gestalt scene as a member of the Human Rights and Social Responsibility Committee at EAGT and the Regional Development and Human Rights and Social Responsibility Committees at IAAGT. Lena is also the director of New Gestalt Voices, organizing and participating in international Gestalt programs in various parts of Europe. Previously, she was co-owner of the Minsk Gestalt Institute for more than 10 years and ran a variety of Gestalt training programs. Lena had the opportunity to learn field theory directly from Jean-Marie Robine(France), Margherita S. Lobb (Italy), Peter Philippson (UK), Gianni Francesetti (Italy) and Michael Miller (USA). Lena is a certified Gestalt psychotherapist, psychologist, supervisor at EAGT and member of IAAGT. Gestalt students and professionals are invited to attend the workshop to explore their own field at the micro and macro levels from the perspective of the Gestalt movement.
