Peter Philippson: eating disorders – report after the workshop
Over the course of two days, participants from all over the country learned a great deal from Peter about the origins and nature of eating disorders. Peter presented his own theory based on self theory, relating it to eating disorders. Under his guidance, participants explored anorexia and bulimia as forms of creative human adaptation, and at the same time as disorders that are ingrained and manifest in very different ways.
Peter Philippson: eating disorders – report after the workshop
Peter shared his vast experience working with clients suffering from eating disorders. It turned out that very early in his career, someone – without prior approval – had put his name on the list of the national federation of people dealing with these disorders. From that moment on, people struggling with serious and various eating difficulties began to come to him, seeking help and support.
Over the course of more than 40 years, he gained extraordinary experience, which he brought with him and generously shared with the participants of the workshop at the Lodz Gestalt School.
The final summaries of the participants were a testament to their determination and gratitude for such a rich theoretical and practical exploration of the topic.
