Lena Grigorieva: Dignity as a healing tool in a relational approach – The Power of Power.
Daylight could not exist without night. Could freedom exist without torture and dictatorship? How do we experience and enjoy the power over our own lives? Do we always need power? How do we experience dignity in the face of humiliation?
The workshop Gestalt: Dignity as a Healing Tool in a Relational Approach offers an exploration of the issue of power in the lives of participants and attendees: from the moment their mothers took charge of the new life in their bodies (pregnancy) to the here and now. We will consider the here and now through the field paradigm in the gestalt modality at the following levels: individual, social, geopolitical. We will touch on social divisions, stigma and discrimination, wars and oppression to seek resources to rebuild trampled dignity and improve vitality.
Lena Grigorieva: Dignity as a healing tool in a relational approach – workshop methodology:
In the workshop, we will conduct a gestalt version of the TimeLine experiment, going through all the emotionally and bodily significant moments of emerging/fading power in the lives of the participants. We will also explore power dynamics in a group and consider issues of dignity as a tool for repairing the trauma caused by one person’s misuse of power against another.
These and many other issues will be considered through experience and theory through the lenses of gestalt psychotherapy and philosophy. The workshop consists of lectures, experiential exercises and group discussions. It is based on the broad professional and life experience of the trainer, who has worked with LGBTQ+ communities, incarcerated people and those freed in situations of oppression and persecution.
❗ The workshop will be conducted in English and simultaneously translated into Polish ❗
