Workshop “Working with the inner critic in psychotherapy”. – proposal for those training in the profession
Internal criticism is one of the more common themes in therapeutic work. It can take the form of harsh judgments, shaming, perfectionism, a chronic sense of inadequacy or a paralyzing fear of being wrong. For many clients, it is a central experience, affecting relationships, decisions and the way they experience themselves.
Led by Dorota Janiak, the workshop focuses on how to work with this phenomenon consciously and responsibly in the office. It is a suggestion for psychotherapy trainees and practicing therapists who want to deepen their understanding of the mechanisms of the inner critic and develop competence in working with clients.
The workshop has a training character – it combines elements of experiential work, clinical reflection and theoretical references. Its goal is to develop therapeutic skills and deepen awareness of the process, rather than solely personal exploration.
